Ashington Parish Council aims to represent the interests of all residents of the parish. The Council is responsible for a range of services and also works in partnership with other Councils and with organisations in the village. All Council meetings are open to the public and time is allocated for public comment. If you have any points to raise you can either attend one of the Council meetings or contact the Clerk or individual Councillors.

Possible Compost Site east of Ashington at Broadbridge Farm

A planning application has been submitted to West Sussex County Council and can be viewed at:
  http://eplanning.westsussex.gov.uk/ePlanningOPS/loadFullDetails.do?aplId=1194

Approximately 300 responses were submitted by residents - thanks to all of you who took the time to make your feelings known.

The deadline for comments has now passed. We now await the decision by West Sussex County Council. We have just heard that Horsham District Council will NOT be discussing the application at its Development Control South Committee meeting on 20th July at 2pm. It is likely that the matter will be discussed at the meeting of 17th August at 2pm - Members of the public are free to attend the Council Offices, Park North, North Street, Horsham to listen to the debate.

If anyone has any questions or needs more information then please use the 'Contact Us' page and we will forward your questions to the appropriate person.

Police/Wardens Messages

Anti-social vehicle usage

If you see anti-social vehicle usage eg power-sliding, handbrake turns, excessive speed, tailgating etc then make a note of the registration number please report it to the Police on 0845 6070999 or www.operationcrackdown.org.uk. If a registration number is reported on 3 separate occasions then the Police will take action. The Police work on a 'reported incidents' basis so it is vital to tell them about incidents rather than sitting there and suffering in silence.

 Annual Report
