In 2009 Ashington Parish Council commissioned a survey into the future Housing Needs of the older (50+) members of our community. We were helped by Action in Rural Sussex. Click here to view a full copy of the report. Summary of the report:
'It is clear from the results that a housing development specifically for the needs of older people is not required. Most respondents would prefer to remain in their own homes and receive support in their homes. This would take the form of: home repairs assistance/handyperson scheme, having an alarm linked to a Warden scheme, physical adaptations to the home, health/personal care in the home.'
